Happy New Year To All Our Members!

October 17, 2016
2017 promises to be an exciting year for the club. The new committee has a variety of events planned over the year with increased dinghy racing, further initiatives for training, and family events involving all water sports.

There will be various social events throughout the year. Planning has also begun for family week, a fun event for all and a vital fund raiser for the club.

Remember to book early to avoid disappointment as places are limited.

The first phase of the jetty rebuild is to begin in the Spring which will involve some extra work parties but plans are in hand to maintain sailing activities until completion.

The first event of the year will be the Blackwater Icicle on Saturday 14th January at the Club with a briefing for the race at 11.30am

This a joint event with Blackwater River Clubs so please come along and support the club on that day even if you are not competing. The clubhouse bar will be open with real ales and the galley for hot drinks and food.

I look forward to seeing members at the club in the very near future.

Upcoming Work Parties and Job List

August 20, 2016
As you all know we are fast approaching “Work Party Season”.

At the moment we have 2 planned, Sunday 22nd of January (which was moved from the Saturday 21st) and Sunday 29th January. Another is TBA.

Everyone should know that as much help as possible is needed as we will also have the jetty rebuild in March so it would be good to get the clubs important jobs done and dusted first. So please step up and volunteer, YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU!!

A list of jobs will go up in the hall on the day but if people want to put their hands up for certain jobs then please look at the list below and let me know ASAP so I can forward plan (well at least try).

If you wish to do any jobs out of Work parties (ie; during the week or other times) please let me know and I will find you a job. At the moment all help is gratefully received but if there are any Carpenters, Plumbers, Painters, Mechanics who would like to contribute to the work parties please let me know.

All the best,

Malcolm Cross
House Secretary
